The Historic Fleming Mansion
GFWC Woman's Club of Fairmont
Christmas Time at the Mansion
Each year the ladies of the Club take considerable care in decorating the mansion for the season. A few years ago a Times-West Virginian new article reporting on the Woman's Club 15th annual High Tea described the holiday decorations: "The Grand Stairway was elegantly decorated with green pine tree garlands coupled with ribbons... There was a Christmas tree in one corner welcoming guests."
We are very proud of this historic residence and want to show it off. In 2012 we decorated as usual and we hosted a "Tea With a Twist" during downtown Fairmont's Italian-American traditional "Feast of the Seven Fishes" celebration. As we welcomed visitors into the Fleming mansion, we served an abbreviated tea with Italian cookies along with a tour of the mansion's beautiful 2012 Christmas decorations. This was the first year that all three floors of the Mansion were decorated and open to guests. Just one more wonderful and festive event at the mansion!
